Reading a racecard
What each line on the card tells you
Every race we price carries the same information, laid out the same way, so you can compare runners quickly. The meeting name heads the card along with the going, which is the official description of the ground from firm through to heavy.
Under each race you get the scheduled start time, the race name and distance, then the runners in racecard order. For each horse we show the jockey, trainer and recent form, and on the Flat the stall it is drawn in.
Markets and prices
Win and each way are available on every race we list. Where our traders offer an early price you'll see it on the button; take it and that price is fixed for your bet. Any runner can also be backed at starting price (SP), which is the official price when the race is off.
Results
We settle on the official result once the weighed-in signal is given. A later stewards' inquiry or appeal doesn't change bets already settled on that result.

Racing by message
Send the course, race time, horse, stake and whether it's win or each way. We reply with the price; the bet stands once we send the acceptance reference.

Each way
Two bets of the same stake, one to win and one to place, so £5 each way costs £10. Places paid and the fraction of the odds are shown on the race.
Dead heats
When horses tie for a position that pays, the stake is divided by the number of horses in the tie, then settled at the full price.
Abandoned races
If a race or the whole meeting is abandoned, bets on it are void and stakes go back to your balance.
