Trap colours
Who's in which trap
British greyhound racing uses the same six jacket colours at every track, and the trap number always matches the colour. Once you know them, a race card reads at a glance, and so does the finish on a replay.
Our race cards show the trap badge next to each dog's name along with its recent form. Where a track brings in a reserve for a withdrawn dog, the reserve runs from the empty trap in that trap's colours.
Grades and distances
Most races are graded, so dogs of similar ability meet each other. The grade and distance sit under the race time on our cards. Open races, which any dog can enter, tend to carry the better-known names.

Deductions
If a dog is withdrawn after prices are formed, winning fixed-price bets on the others can be reduced on the same basis as Rule 4.
No race
When the track declares a no race, bets on it are void. A re-run is treated as a new race with new prices.
